Chad Townsend selects his NSW Blues team for Game 1

It's almost time for State of Origin and like most I have decided to put out the team that I think Coach Laurie Daley should go with in State of Origin 1 at Suncorp Stadium on the 28th of May.

Starting off I chose James Tedesco as Blues fullback on what has been an incredible season thus far for the Roosters captain. He would come into the side to replace incumbent No. 1 Dylan Edwards.

I went Tom Trbojevic to do a job on the wing in place of Zac Lomax due to the injury to Zac Lomax. Zac will make his return for Parramatta this week and this selection in my opinion could go either way.

I also elected to go with Mitchell Moses as Nathan Cleary's halves partner. Although Luai has done a job at this level and has the left foot kicking game on the left side of the field I just think that the running game of Moses could be electric for the Blues especially as fatigue starts to set in after the heat of the opening exchanges.

I chose Angus Crichton and Liam Martin as my starting back rowers as that pair are always ultra consistent, play with aggression and have done the job plenty of times before. With Hudson Young's form I chose him to start on the bench leaving Haumole Olakau'atu as the 18th man.

I also chose Wests Tigers front rowers Terell May to make his Origin debut off the bench after a stellar opening 10 rounds in the NRL this season.

What do you make of the team?
